COVID-19 Guidance for Primary Care Providers in a Community Setting

ATTENTION:

As per the Ministry of Health’s Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) Guidance for Primary Care Providers in a Community Setting

SAFETY WHEN ENTERING THE OFFICE

  • Wash hands and/or use hand sanitizer in waiting area before and after your appointment.
  • When coughing or sneezing, cover nose with a tissue and dispose in bathroom.
  • Masks can be purchased in the office if necessary.

SCREENING BEFORE ENTERING THE OFFICE:

You will be asked to go home or leave if you say yes to any of the following questions. Consultations can be re-scheduled by phone or Skype.

NDs are mandated by law to report confirmed or suspected cases of COVID-19 to the local health unit.

  1. Do you have symptoms of Fever, cough, runny nose, difficulty breathing?
  2. Have you traveled outside of the country in the last 14 days before the onset?

OR
Had close contact with a person with a confirmed or probable case of COVID-19?
OR
Had close contact with a person with acute respiratory illness who has travelled outside of the country in the 14 days before their symptoms started?

By following the recommended safety standards of the Ministry of Health, we are trying to protect our patients from transmitting the disease.
